H Paper in Vietnam is an important packaging paper production enterprise in Southeast Asia, mainly producing high-strength kraft paper and corrugated base paper. The original paper machine was introduced in 2006. After years of operation, problems such as equipment aging, declining efficiency, high paper break rate, and high energy consumption have become increasingly prominent, making it difficult to meet the rapidly growing market demand and increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements. Customers urgently need to upgrade the existing paper machine to increase capacity, reduce consumption, and reduce emissions.

PM Company Solution

PM Company’s engineering and technical team conducted an in-depth analysis of the operating status of H Paper’s existing paper machine and proposed a “four-in-one” comprehensive renovation plan, focusing on upgrading the press section, drive system, steam system, and automation system.

Press Section Renovation

The advanced shoe press module of PM Company is adopted to optimize the pressing curve, improve pressing efficiency, significantly reduce paper web moisture, and reduce energy consumption for subsequent drying processes.

Drive System Upgrade

The servo direct drive system is introduced to improve transmission accuracy and stability, reduce mechanical losses, reduce paper break rate, and achieve high-speed and stable operation of the paper machine.

Steam System Optimization

Advanced heat energy recovery equipment is integrated to improve steam utilization and reduce steam consumption and emissions.

Automation System Upgrade

  • The PM MCS process control system is applied to achieve precise control of key processes such as pressing and drying.
  • PM’s advanced instruments such as flow meters and concentration meters are used to achieve accurate measurement and control of pulp flow and concentration, and to improve the stability of the production process.

Renovation Results

  • The paper machine speed is increased from 650m/min to 850m/min, and the daily production capacity is increased by 18%, significantly improving production efficiency and meeting market demand.
  • Steam consumption per ton of paper is reduced by 16%, greatly reducing energy costs and enhancing the company’s profitability.
  • The paper break rate is reduced from 2 times per day to 0.6 times, improving the stability and continuous running time of the production line.
  • The entire renovation project was completed within 42 days without replacing the entire paper machine, minimizing downtime and investment costs.
