Paper Mill Spare Parts and Wear Components

PMTEC supplies wear and spare parts for the complete fibre line – stock preparation, paper machine, rolls, clothing and mill utilities. To drawing or sample.

PMTEC supplies paper mill spare parts and wear components across the complete fiber line, from waste paper intake to the finished roll. Components are supplied to drawing, to sample, or to measured survey where original documentation no longer exists.

This section is organized in five categories, following the process.

wears
Stock PreparationBale intake → machine chest outletPulper rotors and screen plates, screen baskets and rotors, cleaner cones, fractionation screens, refiner plates, thickening and dispersion parts
Paper MachineMachine chest outlet → finished rollFan pump and headbox components, dewatering elements, suction roll and shoe press parts, dryer syphons and spoiler bars, size press and calender parts, broke and white water components
Rolls & Roll ServiceAll positionsComplete rolls, roll covers, recovering, grinding, dynamic balancing
Clothing & Wear PartsAll positionsForming fabrics, press felts, dryer fabrics, specialty fabrics, doctor blades
Pumps, Piping & InstrumentationAll positionsStock and fan pumps, vacuum systems, valves, piping, sealing, transmitters

Four inputs determine component specification. All four are required before a technical quotation can be issued.

Furnish and contaminant loadMaterial class and hardfacing requirement
Operating conditions — consistency, flow, temperature, pH, pressure, speedMechanical and chemical duty
Process objectiveGeometry: aperture, bar pattern, cover type
Required service intervalWhether component life aligns with planned shutdowns

Component life is compared on cost per operating hour, including changeover labour and lost production, not on unit price.

High-chromium cast ironAbrasive duty — pulper rotors, wear plates
Alloy steel with hardfacingHigh abrasion and impact — rotors, screw flights, reject handling
Stainless 304 / 316General stock and white water service
Duplex / super duplexHigh chloride, low pH, closed water loops
Alumina ceramicSevere abrasion — cleaner cones, element covers, suction box covers
PolyurethaneImpact-prone positions, roll covers, press belts
UHMWPE / compositeLow-friction, fabric-contact surfaces

Closed water systems concentrate chlorides and raise temperature. Where a component that previously lasted begins to fail, verify water chemistry before changing supplier or material.

*Where no drawing exists, components are reverse engineered from a sample or from measured dimensions. Worn surfaces are not used as reference surfaces.

Yes. Components are identified from photographs, samples, measured dimensions or machine data, and a manufacturing drawing is issued for confirmation before production begins.

By dimensional inspection, material verification and documentation review. Customer and third-party inspection at the manufacturing site is accepted.

Yes — through material change, hardfacing, surface treatment or geometry revision. Any change is confirmed on drawing before production.

Standard wear parts held in production programmes are short-lead. Made-to-drawing castings, roll bodies and large fabricated items depend on pattern availability, machining capacity and inspection scope.

Compatible components are supplied for major international and Chinese paper machinery brands.
