Four Days in Wuhan: What PMTEC Took Home from CIPTE 2026

Some exhibitions are remembered for their scale. Others stay with us because of the people we meet, the ideas we exchange and the possibilities that begin with a simple conversation. For PMTEC, CIPTE 2026 was all of these.

Held in Wuhan from September 15 to 18, the event brought together papermaking professionals, technology specialists, equipment manufacturers and business partners from China and overseas. From the conference rooms to the busy exhibition halls, the atmosphere reflected an industry moving steadily toward a greener, more intelligent and more connected future.

The technical discussions went far beyond theory. Speakers shared practical approaches to energy conservation, carbon reduction, production optimization and digital transformation. Topics such as wastewater-biogas utilization, online process monitoring, advanced insulation materials and artificial intelligence showed how innovation is moving closer to the everyday needs of paper mills.

The Russian-language seminar offered another valuable perspective. Listening to representatives discuss new products, market needs and AI applications—and seeing those conversations continue during the B2B meetings—made the international nature of the industry feel especially real.

Yet our strongest memories are not of presentation screens or equipment displays. They are of meeting customers and partners face to face, reconnecting with familiar friends and having honest discussions about projects, production challenges and future cooperation.

A short conversation at an exhibition stand can reveal a problem that has affected a mill for years. A technical question can become the starting point for a new solution. A handshake can open the door to a relationship built on trust.

We left Wuhan with new knowledge, valuable connections and a clearer understanding of where the industry is heading. More importantly, we returned with renewed motivation to keep listening, keep learning and turn good ideas into solutions that work in real production.

Thank you to everyone who shared their time and experience with us at CIPTE 2026. The exhibition has ended, but many meaningful conversations have only just begun.
